How to Convert Sugar to Stevia

As sugar becomes used less and less in food, alternatives to sugar are becoming increasingly popular. The most popular replacement for sugar is stevia because of its health benefits and similar sweetness. When on the Keto diet, SweetLeaf® Stevia is a great replacement for sugar in foods that are sweet.

We constantly have customers ask us how exactly we substitute stevia with sugar in our favorite recipes. In response, we have developed an easy-to-use calculator to help people all over the world replace sugar with stevia in baking, dinner, and breakfast recipes.

How to Use the Sugar to Stevia Calculator

To use the stevia to sugar conversion calculator, find the amount of sugar your recipe calls for. If your recipe calls for ½ cup of sugar, here’s how you would convert:

  1. Find the “cup” measurement on the calculator
  2. Enter “.5” cups of sugar
  3. Use the amount of stevia listed

When using stevia instead of sugar, it can be hard to do the conversion manually. Over time, we have worked with people who have mastered the conversion of stevia to sugar, but until then, the easiest way is to use our calculator. We also work with these people to create diabetic-friendly recipes. Since products such as our liquid stevia are sweeter than sugar, you would use less than you would normally use sugar — about 2 tsps per 1 cup of sugar.
