For Professionals

Added dietary sugars in foods and beverages have reached epidemic levels, with many government agencies and healthcare professionals coming together to enact policies and recommendations which seek to curb the rates of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and obesity-related deaths and disorders. With the evolving consensus that daily added sugars should be extremely limited, the recognized experts and pioneers in stevia, SweetLeaf® Sweetener, offer your patients and clients a sweetening alternative that provides satisfying sweetness while containing zero sugars, no artificial sweeteners, and a non-glycemic response.

SweetLeaf® invites professionals to utilize its resources to educate patients and clients about the effects of added sugars by incorporating stevia into a sugar-free lifestyle. Healthcare professionals include diabetes educators, family physicians, pediatricians, cardiologists, dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, pharmacists, registered dietitians, internists, physician assistants, endocrinologists, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses. We also welcome lifestyle professionals, like fitness trainers, nutritionists, life coaches, gym owners, yoga instructors, and more, to utilize the below resources for their clients.

To combat the health issues related to added dietary sugars, the American Heart Association (AHA) recommends limiting women and children (ages 2-19) to 25 grams/6 teaspoons of added sugar per day and men to 36 grams/9 teaspoons or less per day, and eliminating added sugars from the diets of children under the age of two completely. These recommendations aim to reduce the risk of life-threatening diseases due to the overconsumption of added sugars.

SweetLeaf® Stevia Sweetener and Organic Stevia Sweetener, both available in boxes with 35 or 70 packets or a shaker jar, can help meet the AHA’s recommendation for limiting added dietary sugars. Stevia leaves are naturally 30 times sweeter than sugar and each packet of SweetLeaf® is as sweet as two teaspoons of sugar. With a non-glycemic response, SweetLeaf® is ideal for those managing diabetes, watching their weight, or avoiding or reducing sugars for health reasons.
