Awards honor late founder of Wisdom National Brands® makers of SweetLeaf® Stevia Sweetener®
GILBERT, AZ (July 17, 2018) – Michael P. May, Ph.D., president of Wisdom National Brands, presented prestigious stevia awards to a renowned German professor and a prominent Belgian researcher with the inaugural James A. May Father of Stevia Awards last month at the World Stevia Organization’s 8th World Convention on Stevia in Berlin. The award was named for the late James A. May, founder of Wisdom Natural Brands® and SweetLeaf® Stevia, the world’s most trusted stevia brand.
Prof. Gertrud Morlock from Justus Liebig University in Germany was given first place for her presentation on an analysis of steviol glycosides and iso-steviol in stevia products. Dr. Koenraad Philippaert from VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research in Belgium won second place for his presentation on steviosides related to the prevention of diabetes in mice.
