SweetLeaf Stevia® Sweetener deeply appreciates nature’s resources and the imperative to maintain environmental harmony. We implemented sustainable farming processes from the beginning which we continue to practice today.
The stevia plants grown for SweetLeaf® are a select variety, capable of producing harvestable leaf-laden branches every six to eight weeks for the entire five to seven years of their natural life cycle. We use non-intrusive harvesting methods to positively impact the ecology of the land.
We process our stevia leaves with a proprietary technique that uses only cool, purified water and an exclusive revolutionary filtration to extract the sweet glycosides. Because we never use chemicals, solvents, enzymes or alcohols at any stage of production, we’re able to distribute the spent water to local farmers to irrigate their fields and our leaf residue becomes cattle feed or ground mulch.
Even the SweetLeaf® box is made from 100% recycled paperboard and is printed with vegetable-based, eco-friendly inks.
